Park Falls Wis. (WCQM/WPFP) – Recently, local Phillips High School teacher Trinity Pesko won the title of Miss Czech Slovak 2024. We spoke with her about how it felt to win the title and what it means to her.
“…a lot of those cultures, whether they’re Czech or Slovak or not, are just falling away as the generations go on,” Trinity stated. “That’s why I love being Miss Czech-Slovak US and why I previously loved being Miss Czech Slovak Wisconsin is I can be a role model for younger people to show that ‘Hey, learning about your heritage is fun and exciting and learning about these cultural traditions isn’t old stuff that we need to toss to the side, it’s relevant and current and fun for modern generations too.'” Trinity is looking forward to future events and the opportunity to teach more people about their heritage and culture.
