We all love the Sand Crane, that much isn't up for debate, but when it comes to conservation things are never simple. Today Joel and Ellie welcome Dan Trawicki of SCI to discuss their ongoing efforts to bring about a hunting season for the sand crane. The rebounding of the sand crane population has been a genuine conservation success that we can all take pride in, but with this success has come a new problem. The sand crane has begun to negatively impact farmers, and without sufficient natural predators to keep their numbers in check, the problem is only growing. So listen to this week's show to hear Joel, Ellie, and Dan make their case for harvesting the sand crane.
