Park Falls, Wis. (WCQM/WPFP) – The Park Falls Community Pool hosted their first annual Cardboard Boat Races on Friday, drawing a crowd of spectators and eager competitors to the pool. The event featured several categories, including the best design and the most spectacular sinking. There were three divisions for different ages including kids twelve and under, teens thirteen to seventeen, and adults eighteen or older. We spoke with Ali Smith and Jarret Heckendorf, the two winners of the adult division.
“Thank you to our fans for showing up,” Ali said. “This is a great event, I hope it becomes a thing around here. It’s a good time.” The event saw many happy faces and hopes are high for next year’s cardboard boat races.
