Local residents can share their stories about life in south central Wisconsin and record them for posterity

The Civic Media “Truth Booth” will be making a stop at AtwoodFest in Madison, Saturday, July 27 from noon to 10 pm, and Sunday, July 28, noon to 7 pm, giving residents a platform to share their thoughts about living in south central Wisconsin. From local leadership and healthcare options, to traditions and events like AtwoodFest, the “Truth Booth” has a goal of capturing the voice of the community, its spirit and quality of life.

“We first did the Truth Booth at several county fairs last summer, and we loved the way people sat down, opened up and told us their stories about life in their local communities,” Jorge Reyna, Vice President of Marketing at Civic Media, says. “We’re super excited to be able to do it for the first time at AtwoodFest in Madison this summer.”

AtwoodFest is a beloved event along Atwood Avenue on Madison’s east side, offering a chance to enjoy local culture, food, and entertainment. The “Truth Booth” provides a unique opportunity for people to voice their opinions and share their experiences, creating a wide-range of stories. These memories are saved and can be accessed any time after the event.

“Truth Booth interviewees get a link to the archive of their interview on the Civic Media website within a few hours of talking with us, so they’ll be able to listen to their personal story and share it with their family and friends,” Reyna says. “The best ones may even make it on-air at WMDX radio!

Listen and look for updates following AtwoodFest. And watch for the Civic Media “Truth Booth,” coming to your town soon.

Next up? The Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau, July 30-August 4, 2024!
