Butternut girls open the season at home with a solid 49-37 win over Tomahawk.
Butternut jumped out to an early 7-0 lead as Jersey Polencheck drained a three to go over 1000 pts for her career. Though Butternut never trailed in the game, both teams went back and forth on little mini-runs. The Midgets hit their free throws down the stretch and good post play to seal the win.
Polencheck led all scorers with 22 points, 10 rebs and 6 assists. Kendra Kendra Pritzl added 14 points. Izzy Przybylski grabbed 5rebs to go with some great defensive pressure.
Butternut 1-0 travels to New Auburn on Nov 28.
