
Jack “Jacko” Pottala, Jr., 65, of Fairview Park, OH passed away May 2, 2026. Jack was born May 5, 1960 in Phelps, Wisconsin. He grew up on the family homestead in Kenton, Michigan and worked with his father logging for many years. He then traveled the United States on survey crews for gas pipelines and fiber optic cable before settling in Ohio with his wife Lois Hawkins doing maintenance at apartment complexes until his death.
Jack loved spending his off time feeding a local deer herd in his yard, fishing Lake Erie on his boat with Lois every chance he got, and spoiling their 4 cats Tazzy, Rocky, Shadow and Princess.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Dorothy Pottala and beloved sister Kathy.
Jack is survived by his wife Loois of 38 years; sisters Tina, Bonnie, Linda, Laura and brother Robert (Bo); daughters Andrea, Kristi, Lindsay and Jessica; several Grandchildren, great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, all who will miss him very much.
Visitation will be at Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel in Bruce Crossing, Michigan on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm, with a graveside service at Kenton Cemetery in Kenton, Michigan at 1:00pm.
