Willard “Bill” Peter Washatka, age 98, of Park Falls, passed away on March 19, 2026, at Park Manor Nursing Home. Bill was born on October 14, 1927, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Ina (Ritzen) Washatka. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for two years during World War II.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at the University of Wisconsin – Superior and later married Margaret (Romanowich) on August 25, 1956.

Bill owned and operated Northland Implement & Appliance for 33 years and later served as a manager of bus transportation for the local school district. He was known as a hardworking and dedicated family man who enjoyed reading, hunting, watching television, and staying active. Bill was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and an easy-going man who took pride in his children’s accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; and their children: Jim (Julie), Jerry (Patricia), Lynn (Charles) San Nicolas, (8)grandchildren; Ellen (Jason), Billy (Sarah), Kyle (Lauren), Jake, Vincent (Ellena), Nick, Annika (Cale), and Alison.  He is further survived by (8)great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Frank Washatka, daughter-in-law Jolene Washatka and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ina; his son, Thomas; and his brother, Robert.

Bill will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and devotion to his family.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday March 26, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara will officiate.

Interment will take place at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls. Military Honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion Post 182 will follow.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the hour of the service on Thursday March 26, 2026, at the church.
