Chequamegon Wins Thriller over Newman Catholic

The Chequamegon boys basketball team hosted Newman Catholic Thursday night, pulling off a thrilling 68-67 victory. The JV squad for Chequamegon also pulled off an exciting 1-point victory.
“Our entire program really came together tonight getting two hard fought wins against Newman Catholic”, commented Chequamegon Coach Thomas Tollakson.
“We have never beat Newman Catholic in a Varsity contest in the first 4 years of my time at Chequamegon. Tonight was our first win against them in the 5 years I’ve been here”.
Cooper and Marcus had big scoring nights scoring 30 and 23 respectively.
“Our eight seniors played their hearts out and believed we could win tonight! I’m very proud of each and everyone of our players!”
