Norman Otto Dupke age 84, of Park Falls, passed away on December 9, 2025.
Norman was born on May 13, 1941, in Merrill, Wisconsin, to Otto and Agnes (Johnson) Dupke.
He grew up in Gleason and graduated from High School in Merrill before continuing his
education at Mid-State Technical College, earning an associate degree in accounting. Norman
proudly served two years in the United States Army, including time stationed in New Orleans.
On June 21, 1969, Norman married the love of his life, Margaret Schafer, in Clintonville,
Wisconsin. They made their home together beginning in 1969, building a life rooted in family,
hard work, and simple joys. Margaret preceded him in death in 1985.
Norman worked as an accountant in the family telephone company. Outside of work, he was
known for being an avid outdoorsman. Whether fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, or enjoying time
in nature, he found peace and contentment in the Northwoods. He shared his love of
waterskiing with his children and grandchildren and served as the official boat driver as he
taught the kids how to ski. He also enjoyed bowling and curling, and he treasured spending time
with his children and grandchildren, who were a great source of pride and joy throughout his life.
After he retired, he moved to Pike Lake where he embraced the local community. He was an
active member of the Sno Drovers snowmobile club, a founding member of the Pike Lake Chain
Lakes Association, and a proud supporter of Pike Like Fire and Rescue.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Mary) Dupke-Bourgeois of Park Falls and Andrea
(Keith) Rohde of Shiocton; five grandchildren: Matthew (Ellen) Veleke, Alexis (AJ) Voskuil,
Jacob Veleke, Maggie (Gavin) Rohde, and Molly Rohde; as well as many nieces and nephews
and other relatives and friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his parents, Otto and Agnes; his mother
and father-in-law, Sis and Forest Schafer; his sister, Carol Donner; and other loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Birch Street Funeral
Service Chapel in Park Falls. Mike Ida will officiate.
Burial will take place at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion in the spring.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the hour of the service on Monday, December 15, 2025
at the funeral home.
Norman will be remembered as a quiet, steady presence who loved the outdoors, loved his
family deeply, and lived a good, honest life. His sense of humor was subtle and spontaneous,
and he brought smiles to everyone around him. He will be dearly missed.
Birch Street Funeral Service is assisting the family.
