The Chequamegon Boys Basketball team played their first game of the season @ Washburn in a non-conference matchup on Monday. Varsity won 68-48. “We played together as a team on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. We did a great job getting to the rim for high percentage shots. We shared the ball well as a team. We played hard and forced turnovers which led to offense for us”, commented Chequamegon Coach Thomas Tollakson
Cooper Michalski led the Eagles with 27 points, while Jarrett Heckendorf added 26 points
Norson Rodriguez and Ian Schloer played solid defense and made things difficult for Washburn. Marcus Purdy played through a bad ankle and helped lead our team by taking care of the ball and making good decisions.
