Victor “Vic” P. Barnett, age 67, of Park Falls, passed away on January 16, 2025, at his home. He was born November
27, 1957, the son of Victor and Commella (Eads) Barnett. His early life and schooling were in
Chicago, IL. His family life was filled with love, laughter, and stern discipline. He attended
Southern Illinois University and Purdue University NW where he obtained his Bachelor of
Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Associate of Applied Science degree in

for almost 17 years. Vic had a love of the outdoors from a young age that was passed onto him
by his father. He regularly traveled to northern Wisconsin on hunting and fishing trips with his
friends. On one of those trips in 2017 he met the love of his life, Mary Helberg. They moved in
together and shared 7 happy years, raising chickens, ducks, and watching wildlife.
He was an avid baseball fan since his youth. He played all through grade school, college, and
was a catcher in an adult baseball league. Vic was an outgoing, energetic, charismatic man
who made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed socializing during pool league, visiting with
friends and family, and exploring the outdoors. Most of all, he enjoyed spending quiet days at
home watching nature with Mary.
He is survived by his fiancé Mary Helberg of Park Falls, sister Sandra (Russ) Mueller of
Chicago, and by many cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by
his parents.
