Girls Basketball: Winter Edges Butternut

Butternut hosted Winter on Friday, Dec. 27th in what looked to be a good girls basketball matchup. The game was close throughout with each team taking turns at the lead. Butternut built an 18-7 lead late in the first half, but Winter went on a run to close out the half to cut the lead to 19-15. The
Warriors came out on a 10-2 run in the second half to take 25-21 lead. Every time the Midgets went on a run, the Warriors followed. Winter was able able to pull away down the stretch for a 50-43 win.
Kendra Pritzl led the Midgets with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Gianna Nahring had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks, Lizzie Pritzl chipped in with 7 points and 12 rebounds. Caitlynn Bebeau added 7 points and 3 assists.
Winter improves to 6-3, Butternut falls to 3-4. The Midgets will host Chequamegon on Friday at 7:15
