David F. Wagner, age 70, of Park Falls, died on Friday September 6, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.  He was born on February 25, 1954, in Park Falls, the son of Frank and Betty (Fleming) Wagner. David graduated from Park Falls High School where he was a football star.  He then worked for the Railroad for a time before working for the Flambeau Paper Mill for over 40 years.  He enjoyed his wood business on Hwy E, was a master gardener and involved with both St. Anthony’s Garden of Eden and the Park Falls Community Greenhouse.  David was an avid Packer and Brewers fan and enjoyed hunting, especially deer camp, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of the volunteer fire dept from 1981 to 1989 and serving many years with the Town of Lake as the supervisor and currently the Chairman.

He is survived by his longtime partner Ruth Burhans of Park Falls, his mother Betty Wagner of Park Falls, (4)children: Wendy (James) Barbeau of Waupaca, Susie (David Derusha) Wagner of Ojibwa, Holly (Richard) Ninneman of Ripon, and Seth (favorite daughter-in-law Jenny) Wagner of Park Falls, Ruth’s children: Penny (Dave) Russell of Green Bay, Wendy (Tim) Shoen of Warroad, MN, and Brent (Wanda) Burhans of Park Falls, (25)grandchildren: Whitney, Jessica, Max, Delaney, Philip, Mattie, Aubrey, Jack, Huck, Geena, Beth, Xavier, & Vayah, Sailar, Seattle, & Sully, Gordon & Matthew, and Hunter, David, Kimberly, & Abby, Ruth’s grandchildren: Leah, Jett, Linsey, & Larry, l(3)great-grandchildren: Archer, August, & Moxon, his siblings: Cathy (Alf) Melby, Dan (Cindy) Wagner, Mark Wagner, Greg (Lisa) Wagner, and Mary (Greg) Wirsing, all of Park Falls, his sister-in-law Laurie Wagner, and many nieces, nephews, uncles and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Frank and sister-in-law Diane Wagner. 

A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Saturday September 14, 2024, at 11:00am.  Deacon Chet Ball will officiate.

A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service.

Birch Street Funeral Service is assisting the family.
