Butternut traveled to Drummond to wrap up their regular season in a rematch of last week’s tight game in Butternut. This one proved to be a bit different as Nora Scoraczewski was too much to handle inside, scoring 22 points and controlling the boards. Drummond build an 18 point lead early and led 35-22 at the break. The Midgets did not go away quietly, chipping away to trail by 7 midway through the second half, but they could get no closer as Drummond connected on 20 or 27 free throws to pull away in a convincing 67-39 win. Kyla Hanson led all scorers with 24 going 12-15 from the line.
Kendra Pritzl led Butternut with 17, Caitlynn Bebeau 9 and Jersey Polencheck 7.
Drummond is really playing well right now. Their coming off a big win against South Shore and are really a tough match up for anyone with their size and ability to shoot the ball.
Butternut finishes a solid season at 12-6 in conference and 16-8 overall. They will host Mercer on Tuesday in first round of Regionals at 7:00.
