Alice Mae Welch, 91, Niagara, WI, former Phillips resident, died in the
Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara, Wisconsin, on Friday, October 26.
She was born in Niagara, Wisconsin, on October 20, 1927, the daughter of
Edward and Bertha (Schwabe) Edict.  She was married to Francis Welch on
October 25, 1947, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  Her working career was long and
varied including work as a Nurses Aid, working for industrial companies, and
then for over 30 years she and Francis owned and operated the Wildlife
Museum Bar in Phillips.  She was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse
Church of Phillips, of the Women Auxiliaries of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
and of the American Legion, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.  In her
free time she enjoyed gardening and helping her friends.
She is survived by one son, Gregory (Bonnie), Phillips; by four
grandchildren, Eric, Sabrina, Kelly (Cindy), and Wayne (Janie); by numerous
great grandchildren; and by three sisters, Evelyn Patterson, Niagara, WI,
Lillian Leonard, Wausaukee, WI, and Beth (Kenneth) Goeden, Hot Springs,
Arkansas; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by
her husband, Francis, on November 11, 1995; and is also preceded in death by
three brothers, George, Kenneth, and Lee, who was killed in action in WWII.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 10,
2018, at the Word of Life Family Church with Pastor Terry Sellers
officiating.  Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday, November 10, from 1:00 P.M.
until the time of services.
