The Iowa County Communications Center received a request for a welfare check at a home in the 400 block of North Seventh Street in the Village of Avoca Tuesday morning around 4:40.
Deputies responded to the location and conducted the check and a subsequent investigation.
As a result, Kevin L Ellenson, age 47, was arrested on criminal charges of Battery, Strangulation/Suffocation, False Imprisonment, and Disorderly Conduct.
