Trinity Schlorf’s story is a wonderful mix of inspiration and amazement. It’s not only hinged on the fact she recently graduated from UW-Platteville at the top of her mechanical engineering class. But also – at the same time and at the very last minute – she decided to create a piece of art that could end up on display at one of Wisconsin’s iconic spaces – Lambeau Field.

Schlorf chose to pursue engineering years ago. But the Reedsville native believes many people didn’t know she’s always had a creative-side, too. She credits generations of artistic women in her family who painted, embroidered, and created by hand for her initial interest.

“I grew up around a lot of tinkering,” she explains. “Hours spent in my grandfather’s shop taking things apart. Robotics helped guide me towards engineering, but my interest in art ran just as deep.”

Schlorf only learned the Packers were holding a student art contest a few weeks before the deadline. It was also just before her graduation.

“I wasn’t sure I could balance it with my engineering workload,” Schlorf says. “But the question ‘What inspires you about the Green Bay Packers?’ felt personal.”

So, she sat down and quickly created her artwork featuring a young girl wearing oversized Green Bay gear. Schlorf describes it as a symbol of childhood wonder along with the powerful connections between family memories, Wisconsin traditions, and Packers history. She also included her own personal expressions from around the city and then gave it a name. Schlorf called it Not Just a Team: A Legacy.

“It’s really a love letter to football, family, and to the Packers. They are so much more than just a team,” Schlorf shares.

She sent in her art and got back to her schoolwork.

Now, imagine this.

The phone rings, and it’s an official with the Packers. Schlorf remembers the call came as she was taking a break by sitting on her kitchen floor and petting her cats. That’s when she learned – her drawing won the team’s student art contest.

“I jumped up so fast I scared them,” she laughs.

As the grand-prize winner, Schlorf earned a trip to a home game and a $5,000 donation to her university’s art program. The honor also means Not Just a Team: A Legacy will hang inside Lambeau Field for all to see and enjoy.

Schlorf says the artwork is a reflection – of the curiosity, craftsmanship, and community that’s shaped her personal journey — which now includes pursuing graduate studies in biomechanical engineering or physical therapy. Her goal is to work in prosthetics or orthotics.

“These are fields that blend precision and creativity,” Schlorf explains. “There’s an art to that work, too.”
