Phillips ten year-old wins mullet contest
The nationwide contest is a fundraiser to build accessible homes for wounded veterans.
PARK FALLS, Wis. (WCQM / WPFP) – 10-year-old Phillips resident Colton Goll, better known as “the Coltonator,” is the 2025 Kids Champion in the USA Mullet Championships.
The digital-only nationwide contest celebrates the “the bold and outrageous hairstyle” that is, according to the well-known adage, “business in the front, party in the back.”
The organization behind the contest says all donations raised go to support Jared Allen’s Home for Wounded Warriors, an Arizona-based nonprofit that provides accessible homes to combat-wounded veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Coltonator raised over $4,500 for Wounded Warriors during the event, and was invited to a framing ceremony for the future house of a wounded veteran. He also said that he will be donating $500 of the $10,000 he won to the local Wounded Warriors and mentioned wanting to participate again next year.
“Thank you and hopefully I come next year. Please vote for me again,” Colton told 98Q Country during an Oct. 31 interview, which has been edited for clarity and brevity.
