Garage Fire in Fond du Lac County

Improperly discarded fireworks were the cause of a garage fire in the Town of Fond du Lac late Friday night. A 911 call reported the fire at N6041 Stillwater Drive.

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy arriving at the fire confirmed occupants and pets had safely evacuated from the home. The deputy saw visible smoke and flames coming from the garage.

Fire crews from the Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department and First Responders, Lamartine and City of Fond du Lac Fire Departments arrived and contained the fire to the garage.

The garage wall and ceiling were damaged. Some items in the garage were lost and the home’s living quarters sustained minor smoke damage. No one was injured.

The cause is believed to be fireworks that had been discarded in or near garbage cans. The fire is not considered suspicious.
