Milwaukee County Judge Dugan’s federal trial delayed
MILWAUKEE, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan’s federal trial has been delayed.
Court records show Dugan’s July 21 trial is no longer on the schedule. The delay is due to the judge wanting to consider Dugan’s motion to dismiss the charges.
Judge Dugan is charged with helping an undocumented individual evade arrest by federal agents in her courtroom on April 18. Dugan’s lawyers cite that the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives her absolute immunity, protecting her actions in court.
Dugan faces up to six years in prison if convicted. An in-person conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9.
More on Dugan filing for a case dismissal can be read here.
