June is Internet Safety Month. This month DATCP is providing information about search engines and how to avoid deceptive search results. Michelle Reinen is with The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP).

There are two major ways search results can be manipulated by scammers. The first is through Search Engine Optimization.

The other is by creating Paid Search Results.

Michelle Reinen says that there are ways to identify and avoid search results that are trying to scam consumers.
