GRANT COUNTY, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The victim of a Grant County accident has been identified.

On the evening of Saturday, April 26, at approximately 11:29, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover crash on Hwy 61 near Stenner Hill Road, located in the Township of Marion.

The investigation determined the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 61 and was occupied by a single driver. The driver, 19-year-old Preacher Paul Tribble from Madison, was navigating a right-hand curve in the roadway as it traveled downhill.

The vehicle appeared to have lost control as it came out of the curve and started to slide before leaving the roadway on the east side. The vehicle continued through the gravel shoulder before entering a ditch. The vehicle traveled through the ditch for a distance before it ultimately rolled multiple times, coming to rest on its roof. Tribble was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

As a result of the crash, both lanes of Highway 61 were shut down for approximately one hour.

Additionally, earlier that day, Sauk County notified Grant County the vehicle had been stolen out of their county.
