
Tornado Tears Through Eau Claire County
WAUSAU, Wis. (WXCO) – Northern Wisconsin was hit hard with severe thunderstorms, causing damage with a tornado, high winds and hail.
A tornado touched down in southern Eau Claire county Monday night, with photos of it, and reports from an emergency manager of structure damage. The National Weather Service confirmed a radar-indicated touchdown just before 8:15 p.m. Radar and reports show the path of the twister may stretch from Fall Creek east to Augusta.

Trees also caught fire when they tumbled onto power lines in Rothschild and Kronenwetter in Marathon county. Winds were reported reaching 50mph in Wausau and 55mph in Rhinelander.
Quarter size hail was scattered in some of the storms across the state and nearly ping pong sized hail hit Sidney, just outside of Marshfield in Clark county. While winds in Withee whipped to 60mph.

About 2,500 Wisconsinites are still without power Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service will be out surveying the damage over the coming days.
