Two High End EF-0 Tornadoes Confirmed In Shawano County

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WGBW) – Tornadoes tore a path through Mattoon and also Birnamwood Monday night, National Weather Service says winds hit 80mph. 

The NWS Green Bay conducted a survey of the damage from the tornado on Tuesday in the Town of Mattoon. They say peak wind gusts reached 80mph, marking it a high end EF-0 on the enhanced Fujita scale.

It was on the ground for 6.25 miles and spanned 65 yards wide.

Another EF-0 tornado touched down briefly in Birnamwood, bringing 80mph winds as well. The NWS Green Bay says the most notable damage was to the roof of an outbuilding and uprooted trees.

No fatalities or injuries were reported.
