GREEN BAY, WI—(WGBW)— Three days, 600,000 fans, football, and fun combined to make the NFL Draft in Green Bay, the NFL’s smallest market, a success. So says Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich, who released a statement following the event on Monday.

“I also want to recognize Packers president Mark Murphy, specifically, for his vision of bringing the NFL Draft to Green Bay and ignoring the naysayers,” Genrich said in his written statement. “As the league’s smallest city, we heard all the skeptics, but we didn’t let them distract us. This has always been ‘the little city that could,’ and this last week we showed the world who we are and what we are capable of.”

Green Bay: Capable of Greatness

Genrich called out Green Bay and Wisconsin natives for making the draft a success and welcoming the football fans with open arms.

“Hundreds of thousands of visitors and millions of viewers of the 2025 NFL Draft experienced or witnessed so many amazing things about Green Bay, northeast Wisconsin, and the state as a whole. They know now what we’ve always known: Green Bay is an exceptional city, capable of greatness.

“Again, I am incredibly proud of our citizens and grateful to them. At every opportunity, they open their arms wide to visitors and fans of all kinds and demonstrate a true spirit of northern hospitality that is palpable, contagious, and inspiring,” Genrich continued.
