Park Falls, Wis. (WCQM/WPFP) – This past Saturday, the Mercer Loons held their 37th annual party. There were many games including a slow race and several raffles. We spoke with Turtle, the club’s president, Q, one of their co-captains, and Ragnar, the club’s road captain, about the success of this year’s event and what the Loons do for Mercer and the surrounding area.
“…in all of our years we’ve donated over two-hundred thousand dollars back into the community,” Ragnar stated. “We do well over five to six grand a year just back into the community.” The Loons are completely non-profit and donate everything they raise to Mercer and the community around it. They welcome anybody with a respectful and open mind, regardless of what they ride or who they are. This year’s event saw one-hundred and two bikes on their ride before the party, a noticeable increase from the last few years. The Loons are planning for their next events and looking forward to next year’s party as well, striving to help Mercer as much as they can.
