Diane Marie (Marier) Falstad of Park Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on October 7th after a brief battle

with cancer.

Diane was born on October 25, 1943, in Trimountain, MI, to Francis J. Marier Sr. and Lorraine (Jeannotte)

Marier. She was the oldest of five children. She spent her childhood in Baltic, MI, and graduated from

Jeffers High School. In 1968, Diane moved to Illinois, where she married Sonny Clayton. Together they

had two sons, Michael and David. She worked at Jacobsen/Textron until her retirement in 1999.

On July 9, 1988, Diane married Harlon Falstad Sr., and together they merged their families. After retiring,

they moved to Park Falls, which became the favorite vacation and getaway spot for their family.

Diane loved playing cards, especially her daily game of cribbage with Harlon over morning coffee. She

enjoyed making jam, applesauce, and her famous chocolate chip cookies. She was a lifelong member of

the Women of the Moose, where she held many positions and rose through the ranks to achieve the

highest position of Senior Regent. She was the consummate hostess, opening her home to family and

friends alike and making everyone feel like family, including all who came to deer camp each year. She

made sure the hunters were well stocked with food, coffee, and chocolate chip cookies, and then set off

on a deer camp of her own with her dear friend Marge. Their hunting grounds were the casinos of Vegas

and Laughlin, where they happily tested their luck.

Nothing brought Diane more joy than her family. She was blessed with three bonus children, seven

grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lorraine; brothers Paul and Francis Jr.; her first

husband, Sonny; and her sons, Michael and David.

She will be fondly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Harlon Sr.; her bonus children, Anita (Rich)

Ring, Harlon Jr. "Dick" (Theresa) Falstad, and EJ (Cheryl) Falstad; her grandchildren, Diane (Alex)

Rozkowski, Courtney (Jeremy) Bauman, Megan (Justin) Perkowski, Taylor Ring, James (Samantha)

Falstad, Travis Ring, and Gunnar Falstad; and her great-grandchildren, Hallie, McKenna, Jace, Forest,

Trenton, Hudson, Kane, Elliott, Henry, Athena, and Norah. She is also survived by her brothers, Harvey

Marier and Johnny (Barbara) Marier; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Marier and Marion Hilgart; a host of nieces

and nephews; and her dear friend, Marge Regel.
