
Margaret Marie Draeger, age 98, of Park Falls died on Monday August 10, 2026, at Park Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on January 20, 1928, to Arthur and Edna (Haugen) Wohlleben. She was
a lifetime resident of Butternut. On February 5, 1953, she married Delbert Draeger.
Together they raised four children and shared many happy years until his passing in
1988.
Margaret was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family, faith, and serving the
community. She was instrumental in the formation of the Quilting Mission at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church and served numerous luncheons to church members. She was a
hardworking, sometimes feisty woman who was always busy helping others through her
crafts, cards, prayers, or warm advice. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, quilting,
puzzles, and making crafts- many of which she generously gave to others, to which her
memory will live on through her handy work. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed
spending time with them, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She
was known for sending cards to everyone which included her personal touch, heartfelt
notes, and handmade work.
She is survived by her (4)children; Barbra (Ken) Boness of Butternut, Katie (Patrick)
Colgrove of Ashland, Yvonne (Gary) Mertig of Butternut, Warren (Peggy) Draeger of
Ashland, (6)grandchildren; Aaron Mertig, Christina (Neil) Munger, Andrew (Nerrissa)
Mertig, Traci (Daniel) Meller, Matthew (Kim) Draeger, Kathryn (Leo) Hanson, (13)great-
grandchildren; Maddy, Ben, Annie, Josh, Zane (Alyih), Ashton, Eli, Emma, Trigg, Rilyn,
Ruthie, Rosie, Sylvie, (3)siblings; Earl, Eldon, and Don (Grace) Wohlleben, and by
many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband, great-grandson John Meller, siblings; Edith Bock, Richard, Arthur,
Leo, Leonard, and Tom Wohlleben.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday August 15, 2026, at Peace
Lutheran Church in Park Falls. Rev. Samuel Morsching will officiate.
Burial at Butternut Union Cemetery will follow.
A visitation will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026, from 10:00am until the hour of the
service, at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Nursing Home, Moments Hospice
and Dr. Louay Danial for their compassionate care.
