Theodore “Ted” Edmond Damrow, 86

Theodore “Ted” Edmond Damrow age 86, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 19,
2026, with his sons Kurt and Jeffery by his side,
Ted was born on June 19, 1940, in Unity, Wisconsin, to Martin and Margaret (Cain) Damrow. He
was raised on the family farm near Unity before moving to the area around the age of ten. He
attended school through the eighth grade and developed a strong work ethic that remained with
him throughout his life. In 1960 he married Joyce Ann Wardensky, though the marriage later
ended in divorce, they remained friends through the years.
Ted spent his life working hard in a variety of occupations. As a young teenager Ted started
working in the woods with Erv Mallak becoming close to the Mallak family, he also logged with
Humphrey Tree Service, and later worked at Flambeau Paper Milll until his retirement. Ted won
the Wisconsin Golden Gloves boxing title in the light weight division in 1956 and again in 1957,
he also proudly served his country in the United States Army Infantry as a paratrooper with the
famous 101st Airborne Division. A devoted community member, Ted was a member of the
American Legion and was recognized for donating more than 20 gallons of blood to the
American Red Cross. He was a caring and generous man who was always willing to help
others. An entrepreneur as well, he owned a trailer park and was the founder of D & D Auto,
alongside his brother Herbert.
Ted loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed deer hunting with his siblings and relation, he
was a huge follower of Wisconsin sports. Ted had a green thumb and shared his fresh and
canned produce with others, he also was an accomplished candy and cookie maker. Ted
treasured time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for his hardworking nature,
generous spirit, and deep love for those around him.
He is survived by his three sons, Gregory Damrow of Park Falls, Jeffery Damrow of Cedar Hill,
TN, and Kurt (Denita Carl) Damrow of Park Falls; his special friend, Helen Dezotell; six
grandchildren, Mitchell, Jordan, Vince, LilaAnn, Krystallynne, and Teagan; eight great-
grandchildren; his siblings, Herbert Damrow, Marjorie Williams, and William (Karen) Damrow;
his special cousins, Jimmy (Margo) Stubblefield and Jean Koch; along with many nieces,
nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters,
Elnora Liebelt, Marion “Stubb” Stubblefield, Marcella Wiemer and Janice Krause.
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the American Legion Hall in
Park Falls on Saturday September 19, 2026. A prayer service followed by military honors will
take place at 4:00pm.
Ted’s family will remember him as a man whose strength was matched only by his kindness,
whose generosity touched countless lives, and whose legacy will live on through the family and
friends he loved so dearly.
