Richard Wayne Stein, 91

Richard Wayne Stein passed away on July 21, 2026, at age 91. Richard was born to Enos and
Florence (Marquette) Stein in Park Falls on June 30, 1935. He attended Lymantown School, St,
Anthony’s and Graduated from Park Falls Lincoln High School Class of 1954.
On July 14, 1962, Richard was united in marriage to Audrey Wardensky at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Park Falls. On July 14, 2026, Father Raja Birusu blessed their 64 th wedding
anniversary at their home. They have two children, Son Kevin Stein and his daughters Brooke
Stein and Saige Stein. Daughter Sandra and son-in-law Patrick Shields.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 and served two years of Active Duty at Fort Hood,
Texas in the 2 nd U.S. Army Missile Command in survey and rocket specialist. After four years of
Active Reserve, he was given an honorable discharge in 1964. Richard was employed by the
U.S. Forest Service and retired after 35 years with MacGregor Litho in Park Falls.
Richard excelled in basketball and baseball in his school years and played softball until age 59.
He was an avid sports fan and for many years attended the high school sports programs.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Eugene) Singer.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday July 27, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church in Park Falls. Fr. Raja Birusu will officiate, assisted by Deacon Chet Ball.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls with military honors under the auspices of the
Park Falls American Legion Post 182.
A visitation will be held on Monday July 27, 2026, from 10:00am until the hour of the service, at
the church.
