Sandra Jean Grahovacage, 81, of Loretta, Wisconsin, passed away on July 15, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in
Park Falls. She was born on April 27, 1945, in Park Falls to William “Bill” and Lorraine (Bishop)
Nelson. After high school she was united in marriage to Darrel Grahovac on October 26, 1963 in
Winter. Together they shared more than six decades of marriage and built a loving family.
Sandra worked as a certified nursing assistant at Park Manor, where she devoted many years to
caring for others with compassion and kindness. Her caring nature extended well beyond her
profession and into every aspect of her life.
Family was the center of Sandra’s world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother who treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. She
enjoyed making Christmas wreaths, reading, crocheting, traveling, crafting, gardening, canning,
socializing with family and friends, she was nicknamed the family paparazzi as she was always
taking photos or recording special moments to capture memories of whatever was taking place
with the family.
Sandra also had a deep appreciation for genealogy and especially loved researching her
family’s history. She was known as a kind, sweet, patient, and thoughtful woman who was a
wonderful listener and always had a fun-loving side that brought smiles to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel Grahovac of Loretta; her four children, Colleen
Grahovac, Jeffrey (Ann) Grahovac of Somerset, John (Gina) Grahovac of Clear Lake, and Mary
(Kurt Lindau) Dennis of Stone Lake; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings,
Robert (Pat) Nelson, James Nelson, and Tom (Ronell) Nelson; as well as many nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and
Lorraine Nelson.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in
Winter. Fr. Sunil Thumma will officiate,, assisted by Deacon Michael Ryan.
A visitation will be held on Friday July 31, 2026, from 10:00am until the hour of the service, at
the church.
Interment will take place at a later date.
