Nila I. (Peevler) DeLasky was born April 8, 1945, in Danville, Illinois, to Marian and Victor Peevler.
She passed away surrounded by her three children at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. She spent
her early years in Danville before moving with her family to the Prentice/Hackett, Wisconsin area,
where she graduated from Prentice High School in 1963. In June of 1964, Nila married Allan W.
DeLasky in Prentice.
Nila was a woman of many talents and a truly creative spirit. She found joy in sewing, painting,
flower arranging, cake decorating, gardening, and countless other crafts. Her passion led her to
open Nila’s House of Crafts, where she shared her gifts with others at various craft fairs. She also
dedicated years to cleaning and maintenance at the Prentice Clinic and Prentice Truck Stop. She
was a volunteer in her community as a Girl Scout troop leader, a member of the women’s fire
auxiliary, and many other events.
Nila had a deeply kind and giving heart. She was always there for neighbors, friends, and family,
often putting the needs of others before her own. Her quiet generosity, compassion, and willingness
to help anyone in need left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Wesley (Jody) DeLasky of Phillips, Trina (Vince
Howard) DeLasky of Merrill, and Lyle DeLasky of Texas; her grandchildren, Kegan (Mandy) Parnell,
Jamie (Evan) Lund, Mitchell (Michaela) DeLasky, Jessica (Josh) Scott, Harley (Julie) DeLasky,
Jennifer (Lucas) Zimmerman, Alexis (Fiancé Jonathan) Howard, and Zach Howard; her great-
grandchildren, Jaylen, Kenzley, Harper, Brooks, River, LouRae, Evelyn and Ellis; her sister, Vicci
Hlasny; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan W. DeLasky; her parents; her sister, Virginia
Mullins; her brother, Robert Peevler; and many in-laws.
Nila was deeply loved and cherished. She will be forever missed, but the kindness she gave, the
beauty she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on in all who knew her.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, 757 Cherry
