
Eugene “Hoppy” Harold Beil,age 94, of Glidden, died on Sunday November 2, 2025, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. He was born on July 14, 1931, in Glidden, the son of Martin and Anna (Scott) Beil. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean War. On April 25, 1959, he married Agnes Mataya. Eugene was a carpenter for Schraufnagel’s Lumber and a volunteer for the Glidden Fire Department and Ambulance services. He enjoyed carpentry and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Leslie (Tim) Lee of Park Falls and Fred (Diana) Beil of Glidden, (9)grandchildren, (10)great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes, his son Dennis, his brothers: Marvin, Chester, Clifford, Ervin “Larry”, Jerald, and Robert, his sisters: Jeanette Mertig, Agnes Reischel, Caroline Morford, and Anna Cartwright.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glidden on Wednesday November 5, 2025, at 11:00am. Rev. Kenneth Lahners will officiate.
Interment will follow at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery in Glidden with military rights under the auspices of the Glidden VFW post.
A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
