Kenneth (Kenny) Emil Swenson, 48, of Catawba, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, October 7th at his residence. He was born in Menomonee Falls, WI on April 6, 1977, to Larry and Judy (Sidenbender) Swenson. Kenny was a graduate of Phillips High School, Class of 1995.
Kenny was a hard worker growing up on the family farm. He was a mechanic working for his uncle throughout high school and moved to Wausau taking classes and working for a local mechanic. Shortly after he moved out west to Colorado and then Montana where he found his passion working in the concrete business. After moving back home to WI, he started his own business, Ken’s Concrete, where he took great pride in his work.
Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, trying his luck at the casino but mostly spending time with his nieces and nephews. Kenny was very much family oriented. He attended every special occasion for them, many grand adventures such as camping, fishing and canoe trips. He especially enjoyed playing cards or board games and always let them have their moment when he got skunked in cribbage. He was a dear friend to many and always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Kenny was preceded in death by his mother Judy; maternal grandparents Madison and Mildred Sidenbender; paternal grandparents Robert and Pearl.
He is survived by his father Larry; brother Tait; sisters Amy (Gary) Damrau and Adele (Kris) Hallstrand; nieces Danyele (Austin) Brend and Vivian Gehring; nephews Dustin Gehring, Hunter Hallstrand and Charlie Damrau; great nephew Jordan and Colsen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be remembered for his free spirit, always bringing laughter and mostly being the best son, brother and uncle a family could ask for who will be missed dearly.
Memorial Gathering for Kenneth will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel with a time of sharing at 1:00 pm followed by a reception.
