Jerome (Jerry) Prince, 76

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome (Jerry) Francis Prince, who departed this world on July 31, 2025, at the age of 76.

Jerry was born on October 24, 1948, in Milwaukee to James and Audrey (Neumann) Prince.  He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1966.  Jerry served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 before being honorably discharged.  He continued his education to become a CPA.  Jerry married Cheryl Mahloch on June 17, 1972, and together they shared 30 years of marriage and raised three children.  Though they divorced, they remained connected through their family.  Jerry worked as an accountant for many years, even running his own accounting business for a while, as well as numerous other jobs before retiring from Weathershield in 2021.  In retirement, he found joy in giving back by volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

Jerry was known for his easygoing personality, joking demeanor, and signature chuckle.  With a twinkle in his eye, he was always quick with a clever remark to make people smile.  He didn’t seek the spotlight, but if he was talking about his kids or grandkids, you’d see him beam with pride.  If you were lucky enough to get to know Jerry, he was a devoted and loyal friend.

Jerry is survived by his sister Janice (James) Koeper; brother John Prince; sons Joseph and Joshua Prince; daughter Nicole (Donald) Hilgart; former spouse Cheryl Prince; grandchildren Alexandria (Andrew), Samantha, and Elizabeth; and 3 great-granddaughters. 

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Schell, sister-in-law Geraldine Prince, and many close friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Birch Street Funeral Service in Park Falls on Friday August 15, 2025 at 4:00pm followed by Military Honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00pm until 4:00pm.4

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashland County Meals on Wheels in Jerry’s memory.
