Richard Arnold Yunk, age 87, of Park Falls, died on Thursday July 24, 2025, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. He was born on June 19, 1938, in Park Falls, the son of Pete and Rose (Woodie) Yunk. After graduating from the Park Falls High School, he served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard. On July 11, 1959, he married Barbara Schiltz, who preceded him in death in 1975. On September 20, 1975, he married Bernice Hilgart who preceded him in death in 2001. Richard was a logger before working for the Flambeau Paper Mill until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters: Rosemary (Ron) Theriault of Prentice and Lauri (Peter) Hilgart of Park Falls, his two stepdaughters: Pamela and Tammy, his sister Marge Mrotek of Oak Creek, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara, his second wife Bernice, his sons Wayne, Richard Jr., and Thomas Yunk, his brothers: James, Pete, Ernest, Edward, Robert, and Benjamin, and his sisters: Grace Brimstein and Marian Grover.
Funeral services will be held at Birch Street Funeral Service Chapel in Park Falls on Tuesday July 29, 2025 at 11:00am. Deacon Robert Schienebeck will officiate.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion Post.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
