Ruth Elizabeth (Zoesch) Bilz died on Thursday, March 13th , at her home in Phillips, WI. Ruth
was born on November 9, 1938, at her parent’s home in Butternut, WI. She was the middle child
of 13.
Ruth attended school in Butternut. She was Junior Class Prom Queen and was top in her
shorthand class. She graduated in 1956.
Ruth married Harvey Bilz at St. Paul’s Luther Church in Butternut on November 24, 1956. They
then moved to Janesville, WI, spending their working years there. Ruth was employed at the
Parker Pen Co. starting in 1966. Upon retirement in 1999 they moved to Phillips, their current
home.
Ruth loved life so much! She loved to travel to Florida and spend time on the beach. She spent
many hours crocheting blankets for those she loved, and cooking so many amazing meals. She
did love to go out to eat though, and the more people the merrier. She enjoyed bowling, it was
the one sport she played. Ruth also very much enjoyed the Parker Ladies Birthday Group; they
had many happy get togethers.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and 11 siblings. She is survived by her loving
husband of 68 years; children: Roger Paul (Nancy), Linda Sue (John), Gregg Allen (Michelle); 5
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother: John (Jeanne); numerous other relatives and
friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in
Butternut, WI, at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of
flowers memorial donations in Ruth’s honor to the American Cancer Society are appreciated by
the family.
