Sharon L. Olson, age 71 of Park Falls, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Marshfield
Medical Center in Park Falls.
Sharon was born on December 21, 1953, in La Crosse, WI, to George and Audrey
(Erickson) Wagner. She attended Seneca High School in Seneca, Wisconsin, played
the clarinet in the high school band, and grew up on a small dairy farm before moving to
Fifield.
Sharon married Merlin (Mert) Olson on July 27, 1971, in Elizabethtown, Illinois.
She worked as a Manager at Auto Stop Gas Station for several years and later at
Pamida in Park Falls. She and her husband owned Olson Concrete Construction in
Fifield, where she was the office manager until retirement.
In her younger years, she spent time snowmobiling, fishing, and camping on the Turtle
Flambeau Flowage and Solberg Lake in Phillips. She also hunted deer and turkey on
their land in De Soto, creating memories and stories she loved sharing. She will be
remembered for her pickled beets, Lefsa, banana bread, and strawberry jam and
generously feeding all wildlife and birds.
She liked to travel, taking several trips out west with her husband and enjoying the
mountains and the national parks, with Grand Teton National Park being one of her
favorites.
Sharon was very patriotic. She proudly wore her American shirts and hats and even
lined her driveway with American flags. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she
decorated her house with a new color theme every year and baked several different
types of cookies, candies, and bread.
When her children were in high school, she was their number one fan, never missing a
game or tournament, no matter how far away it was. During the summer, she always
took the kids on daily adventures, such as shore fishing, strawberry picking, or to a
garage sale. Sharon also cherished spending time with her grandchildren, teaching
them how to fish and camp without electricity.
Sharon never forgot to send cards or post comments for everyone’s birthdays and
anniversaries. These traditions will be greatly missed. Sharon will be remembered most
for the love of her pets, who filled her heart and home with love and joy.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Mert, and two daughters, Roxanne (Justin)
