Frederick George Hoefferle, age 75, of Park Falls, died on Wednesday February 26, 2025, at his home.  He was born on September 26, 1949, in Park Falls, the son of Rudolph and Margaret (Koller) Hoefferle.  He attended the Park Falls High School and was known for his work ethic, working two to three jobs at a time.  During his Senior year of high school, he worked at Vincent & Vincent Ford and as a night manager at St. Croix.  For many years he worked at St. Croix and Holiday Gas Station at the same time.  In 1974 he was transferred to Shopper Manufacturing in Edina, MN, while the family resided in Brooklyn Park, MN.  In 1978 the family returned to Park Falls.  At That time, he worked for St. Croix doing remodeling, was a caretaker for Gordon Schluter at Thunderhead Resort, and began working in the woods.  For 36 years Fred worked as a logger.  Gordon referred to Fred as his right-hand man.  On March 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia “Patty” Moe.  Fred enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, taking long walks in the woods, watching the History Channel, Ancient Aliens, and scientific shows.  He also enjoyed playing Uno with family.  He was teased because he could memorize the other player’s hand and knew their next move. 

He is survived by his wife Patty of 57 years, his two daughters: Shannon (Roger) Hoefferle-Wegner of Park Falls and Tricia  Hoefferle of Park Falls, (4)grandchildren: Matthew (Andrea) Hoefferle of Wisconsin Dells, Meghan (Vernon) Richardson of Tustin, MI, Cahill Wegner of Park Falls, and Jade (fiancé Vicente Pardo) Mudgett of Park Falls, (4)great-grandchildren who affectionately call their grandpa “Poppy”, Briella, Alix, Carter, and Theo.  He is also survived by his sister Nancy Moller of Park Falls, (2)brothers: Ronald (Marie) Hoefferle of Park Falls, and Rudy (Lucy) Hoefferle of Falcon, MO, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Shirley Bourgard, Margaret Leitl, and Elizabeth Hoefferle, his brothers Clarence and Gerry Hoefferle, brothers-in-law Jerry Bourgard, Donald Leitl, and Roger Moller, and his sister-in-law Deb Hoefferle. 

Funeral services will be held at Birch Street Funeral Service Chapel in Park Falls on Thursday March 6, 2025 at 11:00am.  Deacon Robert Schienebeck will officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
