Sharon Kathleen (Weeks) Schauer, age 74, of Butternut, lost her courageous battle to cancer on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center in Park Falls. Born June 24, 1950, Sharon was raised in Shorewood, WI by her loving parents Kathleen (Kirkey) and Raymond Weeks.
On August 25, 1973, she married Greg Schauer in Glendale. They started their family in West Bend where they had two children, Matthew and Megan before moving to Butternut in 2000.
Sharon enjoyed all things crafting, antiques, gardening, experimenting with fish in her aquariums and of course her Irish Wolfhounds. She was very active with the Trail Midgets ATV Club. In the north woods, Sharon spent her free time searching for antiques and other items of interest with the intent to upcycle and or resell them. There was rarely an auction she didn’t know about. Some of the most organized chaos you’ve ever seen. Most of all she embraced being the world’s greatest Nana.
Whether you knew her as Sharon, Nana or “Mom” she radiated warmth and unconditional love to those who needed it most. Everyone who knew her knew the door was open and there was always a seat at the table. She was fierce and feisty and she loved the same way, with her whole heart. She will be the brightest star on the darkest night to continue guiding the ones she loves.
She is survived by her husband Greg, their two children; Matthew (Stacy) Schauer, Megan Schauer, a grandson Elijah Schauer, one sister Laura (Carlton) Lodsdon, and by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Kathleen and Raymond Weeks, Imelda Dorau and Vernon Kohlwey, two brothers David Kohlwey and William Weeks.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Sharon’s name to Catkins Animal Rescue.
A celebration of life will be held June 21 2025. More details to follow.
