The Price County rivalry was at it’s best Tuesday night, as the Phillips Loggers boys basketball team traveled to Park Falls to take on the Chequamegon Screamin’ Eagles.

Chequamegon Coach Thomas Tollakson commented “Last night was a tough loss for our boys and coaches against Phillips.  We came out strong, taking an early lead with Marcus Purdy starting off scoring 10 of our first 12 points.”

Chequamegon led 38-28 at the break, but the 2nd half would belong to the Loggers, outscoring Chequamegon 45-27 on there way to the 73-65 victory.

“Hats off to the Phillips boys for battling all game.  They are a very good team who we have a lot of respect for”, said Coach Tollakson after the game.

Marcus Purdy led all scorers with 29 points, Cooper Michalski added 16 points, while Jarrett Heckendorf scored 12.

The Loggers were led by Lane Abrahm with 23, while point guard J-J Heikkinen added  16.
