William Michael “Bill”  Zett, age 71 formerly of Loretta passed away at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls on November 13,2024.  He was born on December 6, 1952 in Park Falls, WI to Clarence and Marianne (Falk) Zett.

He lived in Loretta, WI during his childhood and was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated from Winter High School. He received his Eagle Scout.  After graduation he attended UW Stevens Point where he earned his bachelor’s degree in forestry and resource management and worked as a forester for about 5 years.

Bill noted that he loved doing outdoor activities including gardening and snowshoeing. He was fond of all his animals including Trooper his most recent dog.

He joined the US Army in 1983 and was a Personnel Administration Specialist and Material Warehouse Specialist and left the Army in 1989.  While serving in the Army he married the love of his life Rose Mary K Sanger on May 2, 1986 in Dallas, WI.   They moved to Tooele, Utah where he stayed on and worked as Federal Civilian Security Guard.

They moved back to Wisconsin in 1998 and lived in Eau Claire where he worked at Hutchinson Technology and then Johnson Lito Graphics. In 2004 they returned to the Winter, WI area where he worked at LCO Casino as a housekeeper until his retirement. He and Rose eventually moved in with Bills mother Marianne and cared for her.  He returned to Calvary Lutheran Church. After losing his wife Rosemary he eventually moved to Park Manor nursing home and passed away due to a broken heart. He was thankful to his cousin Diane Reetz who helped him with all of his needs after losing Rosemary.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Marriane Zett, wife Rosemary, his dog Trooper. Bill and Rose had no children.

Bill is survived by his sister in law Barbara Mizer, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 23, 2024 at Calvery Lutheran Church in Draper, WI. Visitation will be at 10am with service at 11am and will be performed by Pastor Tiffany Chipman. Military rites will directly follow the service. Burial will be in the Winter Cemetery in the spring.
