Gloria Jean Herbst age 89, of Park Falls, died on Wednesday November 6, 2024, at Park Manor Nursing Home. She was born on December 31, 1934, in Park Falls, the daughter of Fred and Laura (Zablotski) Ferkovich. She was a graduate of the Park Falls High School. On January 21, 1956, she married Richard Herbst. Gloria was a portrait artist with Northernaire Studio, worked for the CEP office, and for Marshfield Clinic in medical records. She was very active with St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Lord’s Cupboard. She enjoyed cryptoquip puzzles, reading, crocheting, gardening, growing Shiitake mushrooms, watching Gunsmoke, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her (5)children: Steven (Carol) Herbst of Arden Hills, MN, Richard J. Herbst of Park Falls, Leslie (Terry) Haney of Butternut, Amy (Curtiss) Shattuck of Scandia, MN, and Michele (Phillip Davis) Wallerstein of Duluth, MN, (10)grandchildren, (2)great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, and (9)brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls on Saturday November 16, 2024, at 11:00am. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara and Deacon Chet Ball will co-officiate.
Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
