James Michael Litwaitis, age 82, of Park Falls, died on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at his home.  He was born on May 4, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Anthony and Helen (Ferenczy) Litwaitis.  After graduating high school, Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Western Michigan University.  On June 13, 1964, he married Judith Ann Russell.  The couple moved to Park Falls in 1973.  Jim was the Vice President of St. Croix Rod Company for 32 years and after retiring, worked for H&R Block for six years.  He enjoyed softball, golf, bowling, and was very active with St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, but he most of all loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Beyond the profound impact he had on our family, papa touched countless lives in the community. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Friends, neighbors, and even acquaintances would often tell me how amazing he was—how he’d helped them in times of need, listened with genuine compassion, or simply brightened their day with his warmth and humor. He was a friend to all, a mentor to many, and a true example of kindness. His legacy extends far beyond our family, and the stories people share about him are a testament to the extraordinary man he was.

He is survived by (5)children: Jeff (Nikki) Litwaitis of Park Falls, Joe (Kristin) Litwaitis of Marshfield, Jerry (Crystal) Litwaitis of Hewit, Julie Kissinger of Park Falls, and Jason (Becky) Litwaitis of Milwaukee, (10)grandchildren: Jordan, Ashley, Alexie , Jaden, Sierra, Sydney, Kiersten, Hannah, Hailey, & Emma, (3)great-grandchildren: Anastaseya, Carter, & Aubriella, and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Judy.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls on Monday November 4, 2024, at 11:00am.  Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara and Deacon Chet Ball will co-officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:00am until the hour of the service.

Birch Street Funeral Service is assisting the family.
