James “Jim” A. Setterman, age 80, of Park Falls, died peacefully at home on Sunday October 20, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 27, 1944, in Park Falls, the son of Tolly and Marie (Radlinger) Setterman. After graduating from Park Falls High School he met and married Patti McGuirk and together they had two children. Jim worked as a crane operator for operating engineers’ union local 139 for over 50 years. He also worked as a logger and for his brother Lawrence. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved animals, especially his dogs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, line dancing, and listening to music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two children; Dannilyn (Ed French) Fischer of Park Falls, James (Teather) Setterman of Shakopee, MN, one granddaughter; Allison Fischer of Park Falls, his former wife Patti Skomaroske of Phillips, his brother Jerry Setterman of Park Falls, and by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence, and nephew Dale Setterman.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday November 2, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Deacon Chet Ball will officiate.
Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the hour of the service on Saturday November 2, 2024 at the church.
