Frances (Polacek) Foytik, 90, of Phillips, was reunited with her husband in Heaven on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, at the Waterford in Park Falls, WI. She was the daughter of Charles SR. and Emily (Kiska) born on May 22, 1934, in Rib Lake, WI.
She attended school in Rib Lake until her family moved to Phillips. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1952. She married Emil Foytik on August 22, 1953. Frances was a 4H leader for many years, a devoted member of the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. She proudly served as a Eucharist minister, usher, and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She served mass for funerals for many years. Frances loved to tend to her garden and cook for her family. Her children will miss her homemade Rye Bread. Later in life, she found joy in turkey hunting with her grandchildren. On her first successful hunt, she surprised her family with a 25-pound turkey, which she had her son clean since she did not know how to.
Frances is survived by her children, Diane, David (Karen), Mary Jackson, Dana (Jay) Janssen, Nancy (Joe) Kofler, Neil (Barb); 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Violet Foytik and Alice Polacek; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents; brothers, Tom (Mary) Polacek, Charles JR. “Bud” (Justine) Polacek, Jim and George Polacek; sisters, Margaret (Ray) Schirmer, Dorothy (Harry) Olson, and Mary (Steve) Warga; grandchildren, Emily and Adam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655 S. Lake Ave, Phillips, WI 54555, with Father Madanu Lourdu Raju officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the time of the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Phillips. The family of Emil and Frances would like to thank the staff of the Waterford in Park Falls for their wonderful care of their parents. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
