Janalee Hope Ferkovich, age 81, of Park Falls passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday July 16, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1943 in Park Falls, the daughter of Julius and Bernice (Muir) Wollerman. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Park Falls, she obtained her cosmetology license in LaCrosse. Afterward she married her high school sweetheart, James Ferkovich on June 29, 1963. The newlyweds moved to LaCrosse, building their lives together while Jim finished his degree. In 1975 they moved back to Park Falls to raise their three beautiful children closer to their families. They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage, becoming Nana and Papa to 5 grandchildren first, and then by extension their friends and many others who came to embrace them as their own grandparents. While building their family, Janalee worked in Elsie Grassl’s salon, Gunderson Clinic in medical records, and finally at Super One Foods for over 35 years. Jana was a dedicated, selfless woman who worked her hardest to help anyone in need. She was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church Circle of Faith and was honored to serve her community with her fellow members. In her free time, Jana loved to read, craft, and most of all, spend time with her family. Her legacy lives forever through her loved ones in the lessons she shared in crocheting, baking, and playing cards.
