Rosemary Viola Litvinoff, 101 of Kennan, WI, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Rosemary was born on January 23, 1923 In Catawba, WI to Frederick and Josephine (Ermer) Vollendorf.
She married Max Litvinoff on February 17, 1940. They were married for 61 years before Max passed away on December 30, 2001. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Kennan for 36 years. She milked cows and worked in the field operating all heavy farm equipment. Upon retirement in 1976 they both enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and spending time with their grandchildren. Rosemary also loved gardening and baking. Her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were the best. Rosemary could fillet walleye and skin muskrat and beaver and also would demonstrate her skinning skills at the Wisconsin Trappers convention. She was a true outdoors woman. Throughout her life one of her favorite pastimes were spent playing games with her family…she hated to lose. She also belonged to a local card party group. She also was an active Church member and belonged to the Ladies Aid with Zion Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Josephine Vollendorf, husband Max Litvinoff, her daughter Jean Metcalf, a daughter-in-law Sharon Litvinoff and 11 brothers and sisters; Esther, Elsie, Meta, twins Mildred and Marion, Evelyn, Odile and Gladys, 2 brothers; Fritz Vollendorf and her twin brother Robert Vollendorf and 2 nieces; Mary Jo Vollendorf and Tracy Rycal.
She is survived by her 2 sons; James and (Carole) Litvinoff of Grafton, WI and Jerry Litvinoff of Kennan, 8 grandchildren; Kristie (Steve) Klopp, Sheri (Tim) White, Dan (Kristen) Litvinoff, Richard (Jennifer) Litvinoff, Gerald (Julie) Litvinoff, Jeff (Patricia) Litvinoff, Jennifer Litvinoff and Jessica (Ryan) White, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, W10363 Main St, Kennan, WI 54537.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Burial with a short service will be held at Kennan Cemetery immediately following the service. A lunch will be served at Zion Lutheran Church following the burial.
