Mary Meives, 62, of Ogema, WI passed away on May 12, 2024, at Marshfield Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the oldest of a set of twins who were born to Paul and Isabel (Rogers) Good in Phillips, WI on September 3, 1961.

She attended Prentice High School where she met her first husband, Jerry Drexler. They were high school sweethearts until Jerry was tragically killed in a car accident in March of 1988. Mary worked various jobs in the area while raising their son, David. Some years later while working in Phillips, she met her second husband, Alan Meives. They enjoyed 25 years together traveling, enjoying the outdoors, going to parades, and their special dog, Coco. Mary and Al were devoted grandparents and loved to be around a campfire surrounded by their friends and family. After Al’s passing in 2017, Mary won her battle with cancer. Once she recovered, she went on many memorable trips with her siblings and good friend, Karen.

She always looked forward to hunting season when her niece, Tiffany along with her husband, Chad came to visit her and shared in their joy when they got a deer. Mary was the best at giving silly gifts, especially to her son who once received a sandcastle for Christmas. She had filled a bucket with sand and added a sign stating, “some assembly required”. She made everyone in her life feel special, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Her friends and family will greatly miss her contagious laugh, quick wit, and caring nature.

She is survived by her son, David (Megan) Drexler; grandchildren, Dominque (Zeb), Jordan (Ashley), Brandy, Kenny, and Lexi; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Mason, Ryker, Greyson, and Haven; sister, Kathy (Dan) Kosterman; twin brother, Mark (Karen) Good; close friends, Don and Sandy Reichwald; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Jerry Drexler, and Alan Meives; her parents; and beloved dog, Coco.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ogema, WI. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
