Eleanor “Ellie” Meier Drott, a beloved member of the community, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on May 18th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard, sons Randy and Rory, her parents Helene (Andre) and Gustave Meier, as well as her siblings Carl, Clarence, and Betty Jane. Ellie was actively involved in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, enjoyed needlepoint, camping with loved ones, lunch outings with her lady friends, and was an avid sports fan. She was a regular at the Hodag festival with her Happy Hodager crew and took great pleasure in being a part of her pool league.
Throughout her life, Ellie worked at Park Manor for many years and retired at the age of 73. She is survived by her children Ron, Rusty (Janice), Roger, Renee’ (Shakyra), Reggie, Rod (Tracey), daughter-in-law Jane, her loving sister Dar Yeske, and loving sister-in-law Tricia Drott. Ellie leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren Ted (Jami), Monica, Matthew (Megan), Michael, Nicholas (Heather), Justis, Dayjah, Maylyn, Kayla, John, and Joshua. Her great-grandchildren include Naomi, Mackenzie (Tyler), Aiyana, Blake, Amelia, Carson, Desiree, Mason, Madalyn, Cadance, Jordan, Cash, Zoey, Hudson, Aria, Amelia, Aiden, and Jeremiah. She is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren Waylon, Brilee, and Hope, along with nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Ellie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of her children and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness, love, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 23, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut. Rev. John Deitz will officiate.
Burial will follow at Butternut Union Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Thursday May 23, 2024 from 9:00am until the hour of the service at the church.
